Pro Tools LE 8.0.5 update broke my install, as usual. Robertruetz #1; 8 years ago. It did it's usual five-minute plug-in discovery that has become expected with any updates to Pro Tools and then things got weird. It got to MIDI setup and power cycled my 003R interface. After it did this, I heard the unmistakable Windows sound for a device. I am suddenly having the exact same error and PT 8 LE crash!! Regardless of what Avid website says or anyone who quotes their official statement, I have been using PT 8.0.1 on 10.6.8 since 2010 with a Mbox 1, on a Macbook Pro, a Mac Mini and an iMac. It has ran perfectly all this time, never had any issues or crashes. I have a bunch of plug-ins and have never had one single issue with anything. Now suddenly, I had to replace a hard-drive in my iMac (2011 3.4 i7) and re-installed PT 8 and then update to 8.0.1 and I get this crash error when opening PT: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP).

I also cant even complete the 8.0.1 update installer because it fails at the last step: 'run postflight script for Interlok Extensions'. This is so frustrating because I have installed this software more than a few times in the past 4 years and never had an issue. This is totally out of left-field. I cant find anything on the web, except I am seeing a few posts like this pop up recently. If anyone can come up with a solution, please let us know! Again, it is totally untrue that PT 8.0 does not run on 10.6.8 because I have recorded over a 1000 sessions on it. About Pro Tools CS Updates
Items on this page for Pro Tools 8 and earlier that are listed as CS Updates (customer support) were provided as interim Pro Tools releases to address the specific issues described. While our testing has not shown these changes introduce other problems, fixes in CS versions have not been fully qualified by Avid unless otherwise noted. New features or changes to existing features are sometimes included with CS updates, and those additions (unlike other fixes) are generally qualified.
Avid Technical Support recommends that in general, only the Pro Tools users experiencing the specific problems listed in the documentation on these pages should use the CS updates. In some cases, a CS update may be recommended for all users to avoid potential problems.
All Pro Tools CS Updates are cumulative, meaning the most current CS version available for any Pro Tools release will also include all fixes from all previous CS versions for that Pro Tools release.
